Privacy Policy.
Introduction
At Orygn LLC ("Orygn," "we," "us," "our"), we respect your privacy and are committed to protecting it. This Privacy Policy describes the information we collect when you use Beaconly at beaconly.orygn.tech ("the Service"), how we use it, how we protect it, and the choices available to you.
Beaconly is designed to collect as little data as possible. We do not require accounts, we do not retain submitted URLs, and we do not use your information for advertising or profiling. We do not sell your personal data.
1. Information We Collect
URLs you submit
When you run an audit, you provide a URL. We use that URL to fetch and analyze publicly accessible content from the corresponding domain, including its robots.txt, llms.txt, sitemap, and page source. We do not store the URL or any content fetched during an audit after the response is returned. All processing is performed in real time; nothing is written to persistent storage.
IP addresses
We collect your IP address solely to enforce rate limits and prevent service abuse. IP addresses used for this purpose are held only for the duration of the applicable rate-limit window and are not written to persistent logs or retained afterward.
Usage and technical data
We use Google Analytics (provided by Google LLC) to understand how visitors interact with Beaconly. Through this service, Google may collect:
- Pages you visit and actions you take on the site
- Approximate geographic location, derived from your IP address by Google
- Browser type, device type, and operating system
- Referring website and session duration
Google processes this data under Google's Privacy Policy. We receive aggregated reports and do not have access to raw IP addresses collected by Google Analytics.
Preference data
We use the browser's local storage to remember your display preference (light or dark mode). This data stays on your device and is never transmitted to our servers.
2. How We Use Your Information
We use the information described above to:
- Provide, operate, and maintain the Service
- Enforce rate limits to prevent abuse and protect the Service
- Understand aggregate usage patterns and improve the Service
- Comply with applicable legal obligations
We do not use your information for advertising, behavioral profiling, or any purpose beyond operating and improving Beaconly.
3. Data Sharing and Disclosure
We do not sell your personal data.
We do not share your personal information with third parties for their own marketing or commercial purposes. Google Analytics is the only third-party service that receives data through your use of Beaconly, and it does so under Google's own policies.
We may disclose information if required to do so by law, court order, or other valid legal process, or to protect the rights, property, or safety of Orygn LLC, our users, or the public.
4. Cookies and Tracking
Beaconly does not set first-party cookies. Google Analytics may set cookies in your browser to distinguish visitors and measure sessions.
For visitors in the European Economic Area (EEA) and United Kingdom, we configure Google Analytics with consent mode defaults that deny analytics data collection unless consent has been explicitly granted. For visitors outside those regions, analytics collection is enabled by default in accordance with applicable law.
You can opt out of Google Analytics data collection at any time by installing the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on.
5. Data Retention
Submitted URLs and rate-limiting IP data are not retained beyond the request that uses them. Google Analytics data is retained in accordance with the retention settings configured in our account. Aggregated analytics reports do not contain information that can identify individual users.
Theme preferences stored in your browser's local storage remain on your device until you clear them and are never sent to our servers.
6. Security
We take reasonable technical measures to protect the Service and any data processed through it. However, no internet-based service can guarantee absolute security. We encourage you not to submit sensitive or confidential information through the Service.
7. Your Rights
European Economic Area and United Kingdom (GDPR / UK GDPR)
If you are located in the EEA or UK, you have rights under applicable data protection law, including the right to access, correct, erase, restrict, and port your personal data, and the right to object to certain processing. Because Beaconly does not retain submitted URLs or IP addresses beyond transient request processing, most data subject requests can be fulfilled by confirming that no personal data is held on our end. For rights related to data processed by Google Analytics, please contact Google directly.
California Residents (CCPA / CPRA)
If you are a California resident, you have the right to know what personal information we collect and how it is used, the right to request deletion, and the right to opt out of the sale or sharing of your personal information. We do not sell or share personal information. To submit a request, contact us using the information below.
8. Children's Privacy
Beaconly is not directed at children under 13 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has submitted information through the Service, please contact us and we will take appropriate steps to address it.
9. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes take effect when posted to this page. We will update the effective date at the top. Your continued use of Beaconly after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy.
